News: New milestone achieved in Vryhof history: anchor serial no. 9000

Vryhof delivers anchor number 9000

Stevshark for Sevmash

A set of Vryhof Stevshark Mk5 anchors has been delivered this month to the Sevmash Shipyard in North West Russia as part of the refurbishing of an aircraft carrier for the Indian Navy to be named "Vikramaditya" (in Sanskrit "Brave as the Sun").

Number 9000!

The delivery marks two special events for Vryhof: it is the first order officially booked by the Vryhof subsidiary in Moscow led by Mr. Oleg Isaenko and it includes the 9000th Vryhof anchor manufactured.

In the Vryhof tradition, a small inaugurational party was held at the Vryhof manufacturing plant in Rotterdam. Oleg Isaenko, who received a commemorative plaque from Vryhof's commerical manager Norbert van Vliet and technical manager Ferdy Janse, said at this occasion "I am proud of course that our Russian office now officially shares in the Vryhof history, but it makes me especially happy that specialists from Sevmash and Vryhof proved to communicate so effectively, all to the benefit of the project and a tight schedule. I think this holds a promise for future projects in my home market."

Norbert added "of course is every order a feather in the Vryhof cap, but if you consider the 6000th anchor was delivered late 1998 and the 9000th anchor was not due for another year, you see how remarkable a moment this actually is and we are especially happy the order was booked by our newest subsidiary, marking its importance in our organization".

Apart from the supply of the anchors, Vryhof advised Sevmash on the complete anchor line components and their connectors.
